ReplacementHQ/Affiliate disclosure

Affiliate disclosure

Some links on ReplacementHQ are affiliate links: if you buy through one, the retailer pays us a small commission at no extra cost to you. Commission is not a ranking input and never changes the price you pay.

The plain-English version

Running the site costs money, and we do not sell anything ourselves. So when a guide points you to a place to buy, some of those links carry a tracking code, and if you buy, the retailer pays us a percentage. You pay exactly the same price either way.

What commission never does

  • It is not a ranking input. Picks are made on the evidence labelled on each page. We do not use commission rates to choose or order products.
  • It never buys a place on the site. No paid placements, no sponsored reviews, no manufacturer samples. See how we verify.
  • It never hides a negative. If our top pick has a flaw, the flaw is on the page. If nothing in a category is worth buying, we say so.
  • It never changes your price. Affiliate commission comes out of the retailer's margin, not your pocket.

How links are labelled

In line with the CAP Code and ASA guidance on affiliate marketing, we disclose clearly: this page, a disclosure line in the footer of every page, and clear signposting on "where to buy" links so you know before you click that a link may earn us a commission. If you are ever unsure whether a link is monetised, assume it might be, or ask us.

Where we are right now

We have no retailer partnerships in place yet and the site has no "where to buy" links yet. We publish the disclosure anyway because the policy is the same either way, and this page will be updated when partners go live.

The one-sentence promise

Recommendations are decided first, on the evidence; monetisation is bolted on after, where it happens to exist. The moment that order flips, this site stops being worth reading, and we know it.
